Bang, Pop, Ooh, Aah.... is it theá4th of July?! Wrong! It is time for the STEAM Expo. The STEAM (Science,Technology,áEngineering,áArts andáMath) Expo is a chance for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills by designing, implementing and creating an exciting project to share with the community. School fairs will be announced by individual schools. January 9, 2015 is our set up and turn in date at McDowell Tech CC. Who-ba-lation Celebration
On December 18th, Glenwood students and staff had a Who-ba-lation Celebration with character education activities and a wonderful performance by our 3rd graders.á Click the video below to see our Whos!
Track Pack Field Trip
During the month of October, Glenwood students participated in the Subway Fit for Life Challenge. áAs a culminating activity, Track Pack members attended a Run, Jump, Throw Event at Enka High School, sponsored by Subway and the US Track and Field team. áTrack pack members participated in different track and field activities, and had a wonderful time exercising! áClick on the video below to see some of our track packers in action! á

Red Ribbon Week 2014
Glenwood students and staff participated in Red Ribbon Week activities October 27th-October 31st. á
  • On Monday, the theme was "Be Strong, Be True, Be You: Bully and Drug Free." áStudents signed a pledge that they would be drug and bully free, and also wore red to support Red Ribbon Week.á
  • On Tuesday, the theme was "I have the POWER to be Bully and Drug Free!" áStudents and staff members dressed up as their favorite superheroes.
  • On Wednesday, the theme was "Keep your head in the game: Be bully and drug free!" áStudents and staff participated in crazy hair day or hat day.
  • On Thursday, the theme was "Join the Fight Against Bullying, Drugs, and Unhealthy Habits." Students and staff wore camouflageáon that day.
  • On Friday, the theme was "Think of all that you can be when you stay bully and drug free!" áStudents and staff dressed up in their career choice that day.

GUGOGA Boot Camp
On Friday, October 17th, Special Areas teachers organized a GUGOGAá(Get Up, Get Out, Get Active!) Bootcampáas part of our "Fit-tober" healthy living initiative. áDuring this bootcamp, students learned about making healthy choices by participating in fun, active games and activities. áIt was a great day for everyone!

Gear Up Week!
Glenwood Elementary School participated in Gear Up Week from September 22nd to September 26th.á During this week, students were encouraged to think about life after elementary school.á High school graduation and different college choices were the focus of our week long event.á Click here to see some examples of how our students and staff supported their favorite schools!á
Track Pack
Track Pack will meet every Wednesday morning beginning at 7:15, and students will be dismissed to go to class at 7:45.á Come join us for some great fun and exercise!
Gardening Club
Gardening Club will meet every Wednesday from 2:45-3:45.á Club sponsors are Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Silver.
